Grapple Den returns on August 19 at Tagine

Greetings Grapple Den fans,

A lot of you have been asking when we will be returning to our subterranean stomping ground at Tagine for the Grapple Den Underground Wrestling Party.

As you can see from this message's subject line, I now have an answer! The next Grapple Den party at Tagine in Hell's Kitchen NYC (Manhattan, 9th Ave @ 40th st) will be...

Thursday, August 19.

9 pm - 1 am.

Tagine. 537 Ninth Ave @ 40th street.

Doors at 9 pm. 9-10 pm: Rules, lessons, social time. 10 pm: Matches start. 11:45 pm: Royal Rumble.

This August party will be Grapple Den's 3 year birthday celebration!

UPDATE: New Wrestler for NYC Wrestling Showcase this Saturday

Breaking news: As of 6/16, guest wrestler Allana suffered a knee injury in training and is not in condition to compete at the NYC Wrestling Showcase this Saturday (June 19).

We searched, screened, and discussed at length, looking for a suitable replacement wrestler.

And the decision is in!
The Fight Card has been altered.

Be prepared for some excellent competitive action this Saturday!

We are pleased to introduce Lady J-Diesel, the female wrestler and BJJ grappler who has numerous legit tournament victories under her belt.

She has competed against men and women in legit competition, and so she is no stranger to competitive wrestling.

Lady J-Diesel is 5'8" and 158 lbs. She has been described as "very aggressive" and a tenacious fighter. She will be facing off against Dominique Danger and Jay at this Saturday's Showcase. Here's the new fight card, changes in bold:

2:00 pm - Rachel Sinclair vs Joe Jitsu
2:15 pm - Dominique Danger vs VeVe Lane
2:45 pm - Lady J-Diesel vs Jay
3:00 pm - Sherry Stunns vs Amazon Annie
3:30 pm - Clobberetta vs the Bulk
3:45 pm - Rachel vs Sherry
4:15 pm - Dominique Danger vs Lady J-Diesel

ALL of the above matches will be competitive (except for the Rachel vs JoeJitsu exhibition match).

We are updating the NYC Wrestling Showcase website as you read this. All changes will be reflected by the end of the day.

Though we are sorry to lose Allana as a guest wrestler, we are VERY excited to have such a talented grappler as Lady J-Diesel join us to fight against Dominique and Jay.

Heads up to those of you in NYC and coming to the Grapple Den party tomorrow (Thursday, May 20).

I just got word from travelling wrestler Jennie Vaughn that she and her wrestling colleague Julie Squeeze will be attending our Grapple Den party. They will be arriving at 9 pm, and staying until about 10:30, when they will skip over to Chelsea, before coming back to the party around midnight.

Both ladies are available for mini session matches at the party, as well as meet & greets.

And, again, both are arriving early... when the doors open at 9 pm. A great time for mini sessions before the formal party matches start at 10 pm.

Jennie Vaughn: 5'6" 138 lbs.
Julie Squeeze: 5'7" 145 lbs.

Please pass the word. wb270 is not being updated currently while the site owner is away, so the ladies could not be added to the "Guest wrestler" section of the party announcement there. They WILL be added to the Guest Wrestler section of www.grappleden.com within moments.

All right. We are on today for trying training in Tompkins Square Park. The weather is supposed to be clear into the evening.

We will meet at 6 pm at the intersection of St. Mark's Place and Ave A.

Cinco De Mayo Wrestling Party!

Guess who's gonna host a huge Cinco De Mayo Party! Yep, you guessed it! Yours truly!

This should be incredibly fun, with some serious wrestling done by Veve Lane, Cloberella, Brovich Stalin, and presenting an extra special new guest that will know yer socks off!! (You gotta go to see it yerself!)

And if this isn't enough to titillate you there will be a D.J., open bar with Presidente beer (whoo-hoo!) and lots of good looking ladies!

NYC Wrestling Showcase: Sat, June 19. Save the date!

Just a heads-up, wrestling fans!

The next NYC Wrestling Showcase will be on Saturday, June 19, at 440 Studios in Manhattan. 2 - 5 pm. Same space as January's Showcase. Save the date!

VeVe has been working HARD to bring you a spectacular line up of special guests for this occasion. She is working along with a set of sponsors to bring in some lady wrestlers from across the US. I'll leave it to VeVe to give you the low down on this, since I don't want to step on toes!

VeVe, can you give us a sneak peek at what you have in store for us on June 19?
